Meet the Team

John grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and built his early career helping families navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives – buying a home. After more than a decade as a mortgage broker and banker, he expanded into several businesses focused on helping homeowners protect and maintain their properties. In 2010, John founded Maryland Mold Masters as a mold remediation company but quickly identified a gap in the industry: most contractors were treating the symptoms without addressing the root cause. That realization gave rise to Maryland Mold and Waterproofing, a company built on the belief that doing the job right means fixing the WHY.

 Today, Maryland Mold and Waterproofing is a recognized leader in mold remediation, waterproofing, crawlspace encapsulation, and structural solutions—and continues to grow by adding services that help homeowners create healthier, safer spaces. John lives in Annapolis with his wife and business parter Kristi, their four children, and two chocolate labs. He is actively involved in local charities and organizations and believes that stronger homes lead to stronger communities.

A Maryland native raised in the Baltimore area, Alex began his career at a private equity firm where he held an uncommon dual role—executing deals on the investment side while also working directly within portfolio companies post-acquisition to drive operational improvement. He joined MMW in 2025 with a personal stake in the company’s success and a genuine belief in what this team is building. Now calling Annapolis home, Alex brings the same competitive standard he developed as a varsity lacrosse player at Notre Dame to his work every day. His focus is on making MMW the best version of itself: a company with sharp operations, a team that takes pride in every job, and a reputation homeowners can trust without question. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
